Magazine Front Cover

Film Poster

Tester Storyboard

This is our storyboard for our teaser trailer 06:06:06

Photoshoot for our Magazine Front Cover and Film Poster

The Photoshoot above we decided to take because using our own pictures rather than getting them form the internet would work better. The pictures are taken of the same boy in the teaser trailer and also were taken in the same wood at night so that the pictures look dark, scary and depressing.

Trailer Analysis: The Last Exorcism

We are told the name of the film 2:02 minutes into the 2:12 trailer. I think that this is because the editor wants people to remember the name of the film and also by playing them clips of the film they will be in suspense as to what the name of the film is.

We are not shown any cast member names as this is a rather low budget film with no major star therefore putting the names of the actors in the trailer is a waste of time.
We see equilibrium at the beginning of the trailer and then we see a lot of shots of disequilibrium throughout the trailer. To keep the viewer in suspense in what happens at the end of the film, no resolution is shown at the end of the trailer. This is to entice the viewer to come and watch the film to see how it ends. The action shots give hints to the audience as to what genre this movie is and also by showing the name of the film at the end it gives the viewers a chance to guess what the film may be called.

At the beginning of the trailer, we hear religious style choir chanting and singing in minor keys, hinting to the audience not only is this a horror film but also may contain some content to do with religion. As the trailer begins to show points of disequilibrium, we hear devil sounding noises, almost like shallow breathing.
There is no voice over in this trailer.
The speed is a lot quicker in the trailer than in the actual film to confuse the viewer watching the trailer and making them want to come and see the film to see what certain points in the trailer were put in the trailer for.
The speed of the clips in the trailer begin rather slow like as they would in the actual film, but as the trailer goes on and we see more points of disequilibrium, the shots get a lot quicker and faster to scare the viewer but at the same time leave them in suspense.
We are told background information about the characters in the film and we get the general story from the trailer. We also find out who the director is, the producer and some other main names who made the film. We find out the producer of the movie at the beginning of the trailer because (Eli Roth) he is a big horror and thriller director and producer. We are told the names of the writers and the directors at the end of the trailer just after the name of the movie is revealed.

This trailer and film is aimed at and audience between 15-30 and mainly males of a working class. This is because horrors are generally watched by men and rarely watched by old people. Teenagers are the main audience for horrors and they will be a big section of audience for this film as it is a 15 and more of them will be able to get in.
The teaser trailer is different to the theatrical trailer as the theatrical is longer and shows more of the film, whereas the teaser shows lots of little clips. In the theatrical trailer, we are shown more of the actual story so the audience gets more of an idea of what the film is about whereas in the theatrical we just see clips of the disequilibrium.
